Rush rush got the yeyo?

It’s been quite some time since I’ve updated the ol’ CPB blog, but please, don’t worry (because I *know* you’re worried) – I’m still in the process of playing through my collection. Since April of 2018, I’ve played through 112 titles – 98% of them from start-to-finish – without deviating from the plan or going back to playing something I’ve played plenty of times in the past 10 years.

I’m playing through Grand Theft Auto III at the moment, and although I’ve played it a few times over the years, this is my first time recording gameplay. Once I’m done this time around, I’m done for 20 years at least!

I’ve purchased a few new titles here and there since this journey began, and my “grand total number” of games is currently at 974. I’ve touched on this before, but included among those 974 are a handful of compilations that contain quite a few “quick” games, most of which I’ll play together and in a single sitting.

Take this one, for example. I had never played an Atari game in my life until I popped this one in late last year, and the 80 Atari 2600 and arcade games were so quick and lacking in substance that it only took me two nights to play through them all.

So yeah, it’s 80 games, but it only counts as 1 on my list.

Gnome sayin’?

I recently got to thinking – counting all of these individual games in compilations, physically sitting on my shelf, or stored on console hard drives, I have the ability to play an insane number of games. I consider myself incredibly lucky!

So, on the nights where it’s been my wife’s turn to play her games and I get to do other hobbies, I started doing a thing; what if I took all those games – around 1,450 of them – and put together all the box art, console icons (for digital games), and arcade marquees for every single one of them… what would that look like?

So, in more-or-less alphabetical order (with some at the end that didn’t load right the first time)…

If you’re reading this, you’ve made it through to the end. Conglaturation!

You’ll probably notice a few titles appearing more than once, and that’s no mistake – I really do own some games twice, but in different formats. You also probably noticed a few badly cropped images, which for some reason WordPress decided to snip for me… jerks.

In the event you wondered how I owned something, you can also click on the box art, and it’ll say “via Blah Blah Blah”.

Anyhow, that’s that!
