LucasArts (PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC, PSP)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure if\u00a0<em>Star Wars: Battlefront <\/em>was rushed before its release in 2004 to coincide\u00a0with the DVD release of the original trilogy, but I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if that was the case.\u00a0 While it was a fantastic game in the spirit of EA&#8217;s <em>Battlefield <\/em>series, I couldn&#8217;t help but feel they left out a few little things that would have made the game much better.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign modes weren&#8217;t all that different than your typical online or multiplayer match, and only\u00a0showed short video clips from the movies to help move it along.\u00a0 There were cameos from main <em>Star Wars<\/em> characters, such as Darth Vader or Mace Windu, but you couldn&#8217;t play as any of them.\u00a0 I still enjoyed it, and played it quite a bit, but couldn&#8217;t help but think &#8220;what if&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, with the release of <em>Revenge of the Sith <\/em>only a few months later, LucasArts figured they&#8217;d release a new <em>Battlefront <\/em>game with new settings and characters from the new movie.\u00a0 It\u00a0came out\u00a0a few months after <em>Episode III<\/em>\u00a0was released,\u00a0hitting shelves in October of &#8217;05 &#8211; almost exactly one year\u00a0after the release of the first one.\u00a0 Not only were all the <em>RotS <\/em>goodies incorporated this time around, but there was a ton of extra features thrown in for good measure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gTv86eCY0tQ\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The most obvious and most hyped addition was the space battles.\u00a0 Instead of hopping into an X-Wing or Droid Starfighter to do strafing runs on ground targets (which I always found to be a bit useless in the first game), the\u00a0fight\u00a0was brought\u00a0to outer space.\u00a0 You could get into dogfights worthy of a <em>Rogue Squadron <\/em>title, or if you felt ballsy enough, you\u00a0could land on the opposing capital ship,\u00a0get out of your shuttle\u00a0and do some damage from the inside out.\u00a0 It was a welcome addition, and really helped\u00a0the flow of the\u00a0brand new campaign mode.<\/p>\n<p>Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Jango Fett and his clones in the prequels, narrates cutscenes for a\u00a0campaign that follows his perspective\u00a0of\u00a0the 501st Legion of Clone Troopers.\u00a0 From the early days\u00a0in the\u00a0Battle of Geonosis\u00a0to the supposed end of the Rebellion at the\u00a0Battle of Hoth, it&#8217;s quite interesting to see these seemingly lifeless Clones develop into fighting machines, and their unique perspective on the conflicts from the movies.\u00a0 There were also special objectives to complete, aside from the usual command post capturing.\u00a0 That spiced things up a bit!<\/p>\n<p>Finally, once every battle, the game would prompt you to play as a special character for a limited time.\u00a0 You got to\u00a0mow through enemies\u00a0as Ki-Adi Mundi, or get a bird&#8217;s eye view with Boba Fett and his trusty jetpack.<\/p>\n<p>This game was a\u00a0playground for <em>Star Wars <\/em>fanatics like myself, and I can&#8217;t wait to see what they can come up with for the third one&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1265\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.controlpadblues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screenshot_pc_star_wars_1313006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1265\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1265\" title=\"screenshot_pc_star_wars_1313006\" src=\"http:\/\/www.controlpadblues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screenshot_pc_star_wars_1313006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"855\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.controlpadblues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screenshot_pc_star_wars_1313006.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.controlpadblues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/screenshot_pc_star_wars_1313006-300x250.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1265\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">While we impatiently await Battlefront III, we&#8217;re getting Star Wars: 1313.
